Toledo.- The subdelegate of the Government of Spain in Toledo, Carlos Ángel Devia, has attended the signing of the petition of the City of Ocaña to accede to the VioGén Convention that the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior offers to the municipalities so that the Local Police collaborate in tasks of monitoring and protection of victims of gender violence.
This formal request was made during a meeting of the Local Security Board that took place last Monday, which was also attended by the mayor of Ocaña, Eduardo Jiménez: the delegate of the Board, Javier Úbeda, and representatives of the Security Forces and Bodies, Emergency Services and Municipal Government, in addition to the head of the Violence Unit on Women in the Subdelegation of Toledo, Eva María García.
The purpose of this agreement is to deepen the measures of protection for the Victims of Gender Violence through an adequate coordination of the actions between the General Administration of the State and the Local Entities, in order to prevent and avoid risks of new aggressions.
It is the ninth agreement of its kind in the province of Toledo, after those of Talavera de la Reina, Oropesa, Los Navalucillos, Navalcán, Carranque, Cebolla, Camarena and Quintanar de la Orden.
