Albacete.- The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has participated in an informative colloquium organized by the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Albacete with the conference ‘Challenges, Measures and Objectives from Social Policy in Spain’.
During his speech, the minister highlighted how the structural reforms approved during these three and a half years have faced the challenges of the Spanish economy. The labor reform, the modernization of the public pension system and the inclusion policies, said Escrivá, have allowed to address both the pending structural problems in the Spanish economy and the crisis arising from the pandemic, inflationary tensions and other consequences of the war in Ukraine.
The minister took advantage of his visit to Albacete to highlight the positive impact that these measures are having in Castilla-La Mancha. “One in four Castile-Manchegos has guaranteed purchasing power thanks to the measures approved by this Ministry, such as the reform of pensions and the Minimum Vital Income.”
Regarding the growth of employment, Castilla-La Mancha registered in 2022 the largest of the decade. Currently, 722,000 people are affiliated to Social Security, 7.4% more than before the pandemic, and, specifically, in Albacete, the number of workers is 138,000, 6.2% more than in February 2020.
The minister stressed that “the transformation of the labor market, thanks to labor reform, is also seen in an improvement in the quality of employment, with significant increases in productive sectors such as science and technology, and the growing stability in contracts, especially among young people.”
