Ciudad Real.- The deputy delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros and the mayor of Argamasilla de Alba, Pedro Ángel Jiménez, have chaired the Local Security Board whose two most relevant topics have been the security devices for the celebration of the pilgrimage on April 30, in honor of the Virgin of Peñarroya, and the coordination of media for the agricultural campaign 2023, which in the case of this town begins in May with the collection of garlic.
Therefore, for the most immediate issue, that of the pilgrimage on April 30, the operation of the local police has been coordinated with the Civil Guard to maintain the general security of the municipality and, among other things, to be able to carry out preventive work, mitigate the risks associated with the concentration of people and meet the needs and incidents that arise during the celebration of the pilgrimage, so that the service of the Civil Guard is covered in person 24 hours a day of the pilgrimage.
In addition, in order to move the image of the Virgin, the schedules and itinerary have been repeated to be able to communicate it to the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard.
Another important issue addressed by the Security Board has been the planning of the operation for the 2023 agricultural campaign. In this sense, the subdelegate has also been interested in the measures adopted to avoid any type of settlement of uncontrolled seasonal workers or illegal occupations of housing or in infractions, “undoubtedly because of the efficiency of the municipal ordinance of rent with which you have been involved to prevent there being seasonal workers in bad conditions, and sanctioning when you have detected any lease of this type.”
The meeting, held in the municipality’s City Hall, was attended by the deputy delegate and the mayor, the captain of the Fourth Company of the Civil Guard, Antonio Villalta, the first sergeant and commander of the local post, Tomás García, the head of the Local Police, José Carretón, and the councilor for Economic Promotion, Tourism, Training and OMIC, Noelia Serrano.
