Ciudad Real.- The deputy delegate of the Government in the province of Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros, and the mayor of the town of Almadén, María del Carmen Montes Pizarro, have signed, in the Local Security Board, the protocol of the VioGén System.
This incorporation into the VioGén system allows agents of the Local Police of Almadén to have access to the database that depends on the Ministry of the Interior, of the cases of gender violence reported. Local police officers can thus perform monitoring functions that were previously exclusively developed by the Civil Guard.
"The collaboration between the Local Police and the Civil Guard is fundamental for an effective follow-up of the victims of gender violence, and with this signature the Local Police, who are also those who know the victims and their children first hand, become one more element that ensures their safety," said the Deputy Delegate of the Government. Six are the active cases of Almadén, included in VioGén.
With this, the number of VioGén agreements in force in the province amounts to ten: Puertollano, Ciudad Real, Socuéllamos, Argamasilla de Calatrava, Alcázar de San Juan, La Solana, Manzanares, Malagón, Villarrubia de los Ojos and, now, Almadén. In this regard, the subdelegate has encouraged the other municipalities of the province to join a system whose fundamental objective is to protect the victims of male violence and improve the attention of each case through a comprehensive follow-up plan.
The mayor of Almadén, for her part, has expressed her satisfaction "it is an important day for the town because steps continue to be taken to eradicate this scourge, our Local Police forces are fundamental in this endeavour as they are the body closest to the citizen and the one that best knows the situation that occurs in the municipality coordinated always in its work with the Civil Guard".
In addition to the deputy delegate and the mayor of the town, the lieutenant colonel, head of the Royal City Command, Juan Antonio Valle, the captain of the Puertollano Company, Juan Angel Coronado, the position commander, David Pastor, the workers of the Women's Center, Pilar García-Dona and Monserrat López and the head of the local Police, José María López have been present.
