Ciudad Real.- The VioGén Agreement that the Deputy Delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros, and the Mayor of La Solana, Eulalio Díaz-Cano, signed on February 24 at the Local Security Board, thus adhering to the protocol of the VioGén System, has entered into force, with its publication, on Monday, April 3, in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
With the Comprehensive Monitoring System for Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System) of the State Secretariat for Security of the Ministry of the Interior, the protection of victims is monitored according to the level of risk assigned, thus carrying out important preventive work.
Therefore, the agreement establishes the form of collaboration between the Civil Guard and the members of the Local Police Force of La Solana, as well as the protocol of action in cases of gender violence in the locality. In short, thanks to the VioGén system, it is possible to deepen the protection measures that the victims will receive and achieve better coordination between the two security forces that will prevent and avoid risks for future attacks.
The Government’s deputy delegate, María de los Ángeles Herreros, has expressed the Government’s commitment to continue deepening the protection of women against gender violence. “That is why we continue to promote with the municipalities the signatures of these agreements, which serve to improve the coordination between the Civil Guard and/or National Police with the Local Police, and thus take another step in this commitment of all administrations.”
The protocol has been signed with a validity of four years, its extension may be agreed to another four additional years and does not entail cost for any of the parties, nor transfer of economic resources between them.
The subdelegate wanted to urge the municipalities that have not yet adhered to this agreement to do so, since “it is a commitment that is not burdensome for the municipalities and, nevertheless, it is a necessary, useful and effective instrument to combat the scourge of male violence.”
