Albacete.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, visited the area benefited by the project to improve the accessibility and suitability of the cave art coats of Torcal de Bojadillas, in Nerpio (Albacete).
Tierraseca stressed the importance of the support of the Government of Spain in this action, which on this occasion is made a reality through the 1.5% cultural Mitma, an instrument “that has been very valuable for the protection and recovery of the heritage and that in Castilla-La Mancha has already given us fundamental support in several projects”.
The total investment of this project is 273,887.45 euros, of which the Ministry of Mobility and Urban Agenda contributes, within the program of 1.5% cultural, 169,278.34 euros, the Provincial Council contributes, through agreement for the drafting of projects another 22,680 euros, and the City of Nerpio contributes 81,887.45 euros.
“Once again, the importance of collaboration between the institutions is evident; today we see another project that is going to be carried out with the joint effort of the State Administration and, in this case, the Provincial and the Local and that, without a doubt, will benefit the protection of the heritage and its enjoyment by the citizens,” said Tierraseca.
The performance will be carried out in an area of high cultural and patrimonial value, for the outdoor rock art exhibitions that house the more than 70 coats of Torcal de Bojadillas, of Levantine and schematic styles. The shelter rehabilitation project with Prado del Tornero II’s Levantine paintings regains the visibility of the cave paintings, and can be visited from the Outdoor Interpretation Center of the Cave Art of Nerpio, located in its vicinity and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The government delegate has visited the area together with the president of the Provincial Council, Santiago Cabañero, and the mayor of Nerpio, José Antonio Gómez, and has been able to observe the beauty and historical and patrimonial value of an area that, with this performance, is expected to increase the number of visitors.
This is not the only action that has the support of the Government of Spain in the municipality of Albacete, since Nerpio is also one of the beneficiary localities with the aid to alleviate the damages caused by the Filomena borrasca. Specifically, it was granted, for this call, an aid of 352,000 euros to carry out six projects to repair the damage caused.
