Cuenca.-. The Subdelegation of the Government in Cuenca has held an open day this week on the occasion of the ‘Open Administration’ Week. It is a global initiative of the Alliance for Open Government, to which Spain has been a member since its foundation in 2011.
The day was inaugurated by the Subdelegate of the Government in Cuenca, Mª Luz Fernández, and was attended by about half a hundred attendees among Baccalaureate students of the Alfonso VIII Institute of the capital and staff of other administrations.
The subdelegate of the Government invited them to “know the work of the Public Administration”, stressing that the purpose of these days is “to contribute to increase the relationship of citizens with the Administration”, based on the principles of ‘Open Government’: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.
During the day, held in two sessions, the attendees learned about the operation of the Citizen Folder, Cl@ve and Digital Certificate, also going into the activity of the National Geographic Institute in Castilla-La Mancha through its technical staff.
In addition to the detailed explanation of the functioning of the General Administration, the attendees were informed about what a Government Subdelegation is and what services it provides, then touring the facilities and meeting those responsible for areas such as the Registry Office, Administrative Authorizations, Civil Protection, General Secretariat or the Unit Against Violence against Women.
