Ciudad Real.- The deputy delegate of the Government in the province of Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros, and the mayor of the town of Malagón, Adrián Fernández, have signed, in the Local Security Board, the protocol of the VioGén System.
The subdelegate thanked the municipality for signing up to the VioGén agreement, which will improve the effectiveness of protection for victims of gender-based violence. Currently, Malagón has 28 active cases of gender-based violence, which are constantly monitored by the Civil Guard.
With this, there are already eight VioGén conventions in force in the province: Puertollano, Ciudad Real, Socuéllamos, Argamasilla de Calatrava, Alcázar de San Juan, La Solana, Manzanares and now Malagón. In this regard, the subdelegate has encouraged municipalities to join a system whose fundamental objective is to protect the victims of male violence. “The municipalities see how the numbers of male violence have a face, a name and an address. They know the women who are suffering from it and their children. That is why it is so important for the consistories to be involved,” says the deputy delegate.
After the accession to the VioGén protocol and the approval of the operational coordination procedure between the Civil Guard Command and the City Council, the next step will be the signing, in the near future, of an agreement between the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior and the Consistory.
This agreement will facilitate the development of the functionalities of the VioGén system, providing the necessary guidelines, material and support. The Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Subdelegation promotes the training and specialization of professionals involved in situations of gender violence, including local police forces, as seen during last week in the Days organized for this purpose that took place at the Ifedi.
They have been present in addition to the subdelegate and the mayor, the lieutenant colonel, head of the Royal City Command, Juan A. Valle, the captain of the Company, Esteban J. From Diego, the position commander, Andrés García, the deputy mayor, Afrodisio Santos, the councilor for Social Services and Equality, Olga Muy, the accidental head of the local police, Bibiano Cañizares, and Ramón López, member of Civil Protection of the Malagón Group.
