Albacete.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, has valued the commitment of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez with the municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha that were most damaged by the borrasca Filomena.
It did so at the inauguration of the works to repair the damage caused by this borrasca in the town of Madrigueras (Albacete). There, accompanying the mayor of the town, Juan Carlos Talavera, and together with the president of the Provincial Council, Santiago Cabañero, and the deputy delegate of the Government in Albacete, Miguel Juan Espinosa, Tierraseca has been able to verify the result of the work.
The delegate recalled in his speech that three projects have been implemented in this municipality of Albacete with a global investment of 623,950.97 euros, of which the Government of Spain has contributed, through the Ministry of Territorial Policy, 282,372.83 euros, and the rest has come from the municipal contribution.
Tierraseca has thanked the City of Madrigueras for its financial efforts, on the one hand, “and the commitment” of the mayor, on the other, to request this aid from the Executive so that it could have been one of the beneficiaries of the Royal Decree of Aid that the Ministry approved for the actions of rehabilitation of public infrastructures that suffered the damage of `Filomena'. He has also thanked the Provincial Council for processing the dossiers for the execution of these works and for requesting the subsidies.
“Once again it is demonstrated – the government delegate has defended – that collaboration between the administrations allows faster and more intense results for the benefit of our towns and cities.”
The presentation ceremony was held precisely from one of the places where action has been taken to repair the damage, the municipal football field. In this case, the turf area has been replaced, which was destroyed and prevented the normal practice of sports activities, by new artificial turf, and which has had a budget of 185,197.30 euros.
After the event, the delegate, together with the other authorities and the residents of the municipality who wanted to accompany them, visited the result of the other two repair actions. On the one hand, the arrangement of the municipal ice cream parlor, located in the Municipal Park of Madrigueras, which suffered damage to the roof and structure, and whose repair has had a budget of 152,432.64 euros; and on the other hand, the repair of the ‘Camino Hondo’ and Avenida de San Jorge, which suffered significant damages in the paving, and which have been repaired with a budget of 227,115.73 euros.
Tierraseca has influenced the enormous effort of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to support the municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha that were most affected by the borrasca Filomena, highlighting that this region was one of the most damaged in the country with that adverse episode. Thus, it has highlighted that it has been almost 45 million euros (44.7 million euros) that the Ministry of Territorial Policy, the Government of Spain, has allocated to municipal entities to repair the infrastructures and municipal buildings damaged by this storm and that it is reaching 320 municipalities, the five deputies and two communities.
In the case of the province of Albacete, the beneficiaries who received the requested projects were finally 34 municipalities and the Provincial Council of Albacete, for a joint grant of 9,969,374.15 euros.
