Ciudad Real.-The subdelegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Ciudad Real, Mª de los Ángeles Herreros, opened this morning the training sessions on the VioGén system and on Gender Violence, aimed at professionals from the State Security Forces and Bodies, and local police officers, organized by the Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Subdelegation.
A few days attended by 190 National Police and Civil Guard officers specialized in the fight against gender violence, as well as Local Police, officials of Penitentiary Institutions and professionals.
Mª Ángeles Herreros said that “with this day we intend to offer training tailored to the needs that are constantly being raised in the daily activity of the State Security Forces and Corps, and we also want to join forces of Local Police, both of Municipalities that have signed VioGén agreements with the Government Subdelegation and those that are raising it, so that they know in depth this application tool and there is even closer coordination between security forces.” All of this results – said Herreros – in an improvement in the prevention and fight against any type of gender violence.
Speakers from both the UFAM (Family and Women Unit) of the National Police, and the EMUME (Women and Minors Unit) of the Civil Guard will publicize the technical aspects and the practical application of the VioGen System and will emphasize the application of the so-called ‘Protocol 0’ to victims who do not file a complaint or do not want to continue with the judicial process, so that they are aware of the level of risk they assume.
