Ciudad Real.- The Subdelegation of the Government in Ciudad Real has hosted the meeting of the provincial commission of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments. This committee, chaired by the Government’s sub-delegate, Mª Ángeles Herreros, is made up of representatives of the territorial delegation of Education of the Junta of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, National Police and Civil Guard.
In the meeting held today an analysis of the data of 2022 has been made, and the beginning of the activities for the course 2022/2023 has been addressed.
The Master Plan is a joint initiative of the Ministries of the Interior and Education and aims to strengthen police cooperation, through the National Police Force and the Civil Guard, with the educational authorities carrying out activities in educational centers, aimed at intensifying preventive measures among the school community in some topics such as bullying, Internet risks, drug and alcohol consumption in minors, equality and gender violence and/or youth gangs and hate crimes.
The Government’s deputy delegate, Mª de los Ángeles Herreros, highlighted the importance of the Master Plan for Coexistence “as a fundamental tool to educate in equality and respect for diversity.”
In addition, Herreros has thanked all the parties involved for their work and has guaranteed the support of the subdelegation to get more educational centers in the province involved in the activities of the plan; “your work is very important for the prevention and sensitization work that you do, it is also a work of education that you do the State Security Forces”, he stressed.
A total of 90 schools in the province participated during the 2021-22 school year in this Master Plan, with a total of 551 talks to students, which is coordinated by the Subdelegation of the Government in Ciudad Real in collaboration with the Provincial Delegation of Education of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha, the National Police Force and the Civil Guard.
Among the topics of the talks given by the National Police, 132 last year, the New Technologies (69) and Bullying (41) stand out. Issues such as Drugs and Alcohol (8), Gender Violence (12) and Other Diverse Subjects (2) have also been addressed.
In the Civil Guard demarcation, another 413 were taught in the same thematic proportion that were aimed at 10,182 students.
With regard to control to prevent drug use, they have established corresponding surveillance services in school environments that have amounted to more than 1,600 surveillance.
As far as the forecasts for this year are concerned, in January and February 2023 190 talks have already been given to students from the province.
