The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, received on Tuesday the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Spain, Eugeniu Revenco, on the occasion of his visit to the autonomous community.
During the meeting, both the government delegate and the ambassador expressed their willingness to strengthen the cultural, economic and cooperation ties between Moldova and Cantabria, exploring new opportunities to strengthen relations in areas of mutual interest.
Casares highlighted the importance of this meeting because Cantabria has a community of more than 3,000 Moldovan citizens, which makes it the third autonomous community with the highest number of Moldavian citizens resident.
Eugeniu Revenco, a diplomat with a long history, currently serves as Moldova’s ambassador to Spain, the Principality of Andorra and the Tunisian Republic, positions he assumed in February 2022.
Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions of responsibility in international bodies and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, standing out as deputy permanent representative to the UN in Geneva and as ambassador to Latvia, as well as secretary-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his country.
This official visit reinforces the commitment of the Government Delegation in Cantabria to international dialogue and institutional cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of external links that favor the economic, cultural and social development of the region.
