• The government delegate in Cantabria has participated in the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Official College of Nurses of Cantabria
The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has praised the “fundamental role” of nursing in the Welfare State and, therefore, has pointed out that all institutions and administrations must give these professionals “the role and resources they deserve”.
Casares said this at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Official College of Nurses of Cantabria, on Calle Gravina 7 in Santander, an event in which he wanted to accompany the president of the collegiate entity, María Luz Fernández, and its Board of Directors of which he highlighted “his effort and commitment” to the profession.
The delegate highlighted the importance of the College of Nurses of Cantabria, which is the “largest” in the community, with more than 5,000 members.
She has also referred to the “present and future challenges” of nursing, such as the effective development of professional specialties, the pursuit of intrusiveness or the equalization of nursing ratios per 1000 inhabitants with the European average.
On the new headquarters of the entity, he has pointed out that it “brings the profession closer” to the citizens by being on the street and has highlighted the “pride” as a government delegate in Cantabria by contemplating the prominent place of the Menina that the institution he presides delivered to the school in recognition of his fight against male violence.
