The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, announced today during his speech at the General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC) the latest provisional awards of the PERTE VEC II with 29 new projects of 20 companies in line B linked to the industrial value chain of the electric vehicle. In total, 72 million euros are approved in loans.
Among the 29 projects selected one is from the company located in Cantabria (Guarnizo) Components and Assemblies for 1.80 million.
The objective of this line is to promote investment plans for the industrial value chain of the electric and connected vehicle, its systems, subsystems and components, as well as certain auxiliary infrastructure systems necessary for its deployment.
In total, the second call of the PERTE VEC, both in the battery line and in the value chain line, has awarded 1,155 million euros for a total of 143 projects, including those approved in this last batch.
During his speech, the minister highlighted the electrification process that is being experienced both in the Spanish automotive factories and in the acquisition of vehicles. The market for electrified vehicles grew by 32.7% in January, making it 12.9% of the total market. In particular, 6 out of 10 vehicles sold in January have been zero-emission or low-emission.
The minister has reiterated the Government’s commitment to the recovery of the extension of the Moves Plan, which will have retroactive effects from January 1 of this year. And he recalled that 17,000 applications have already been received for aid to purchase vehicles from the Auto Restart Plan+ launched by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism for those people who lost their vehicles as a result of the Dana.
Hereu ended his speech by thanking the public-private collaboration as a pillar to keep the automotive industry as one of the main ones in the Spanish economy.
