The Government delegate in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, announced today the beginning of the works of energy rehabilitation and conditioning of the headquarters of the Civil Guard of Reinosa.
After visiting the quartering with the lieutenant colonel of the Civil Guard, Juan M. Ros, the delegate has indicated that the works will last for about a year and will involve an investment of 2,463,956 euros by the Government of Spain.
As he has detailed, this action is the result of an interdepartmental agreement between the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Ministry of the Interior and is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Gómez de Diego explained that the rehabilitation work will focus on improving the building’s thermal envelope. Thermal insulation will be installed throughout the façade, exterior carpentry floors will be replaced by high-performance ones, and roofs will be improved.
In addition, a more efficient air conditioning and ventilation system will be installed, which will reduce energy consumption and improve the quality of the indoor air. Renewable energy sources, such as solar photovoltaic energy, will also be incorporated to cover part of the building’s energy needs.
“This is an ambitious action that will reduce energy consumption by at least 30%, as well as greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere,” said Gómez de Diego.
Comfort improvement
The delegate also wanted to highlight that all these works will mean a significant improvement in the comfort and habitability of the homes, which will result in a better quality of life for the civil guards and their families.
In addition, Gómez de Diego pointed out that the project plans to optimize the areas of attention to the public, with the aim of improving the quality of the service provided to citizens, creating a more comfortable and efficient environment.
Likewise, the works will include improvements in the accessibility of the building, such as the adequacy of the access ramp and the installation of toilets adapted to people with reduced mobility.
“This investment of 2,463,956 euros by the Government of Spain is a sign of the commitment of the Executive with the improvement of infrastructures and public services in Cantabria, and in particular, with the well-being of the agents of the Civil Guard who ensure the safety of all of us,” concluded Gómez de Diego.
The headquarters, built in 2002, consists of three independent buildings with differentiated uses of offices and homes, adding a built area of 3,470 square meters for homes and 1,119 for offices.
