The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, highlighted the “important collaboration” that the Civil Guard maintains with the College of Nursing of Cantabria and thanks to which during this week a hundred agents will be trained in different assistance maneuvers.
Quiñones has praised it after attending the first training day of the course on CPR maneuvers, use of the DESA and tourniquet on Monday, which are taught by members of the College of Nursing presided over by Mariluz Fernández and which will last until next Thursday, October 26.
Together with the colonel of the Civil Guard of Cantabria, Antonio Orantos, and the president of the College of Nursing, the delegate of the Government has pointed out that it is “essential” that agents of the State Security Forces and Corps are “specially trained” for urgent and/or serious situations that require an immediate health response.
In this case, the training organized by the Civil Guard of Cantabria in collaboration with the College of Nursing “aims to provide agents with greater training to address situations that require an immediate response in situations of assistance of people and that may occur in places where, due to their geographical situation, assistance from health resources may be delayed.
Therefore, throughout the week, in groups of around 25 agents, members of the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC), the ROCA teams, the SEPRONA, the tax units and the Maritime Service will be trained in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, the use of the semi-automatic external defibrillator and the performance of a tourniquet.
At the end of the training, the participating agents will receive the corresponding official title of the course from the College of Nursing.
