The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands will cover in the next few days, and at the latest at the beginning of December, with six interim officials the places not yet occupied by career officials that appear in the list of jobs of the different Border Inspection Posts (PIF) of the Canary Islands.
The Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, has analysed together with the Secretary General and the Director of the Functional Area of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Government Delegation, Juan José Santana and Luis Ortín, respectively, the situation of the PIF of the Archipelago and the viable options to improve the service of these inspection points.
In this regard, three interim officials will be assigned to the island of Tenerife, two to the island of Gran Canaria (one of them through the renewal of its interinity), and one more in Lanzarote.
“We are very aware of the situation that exists in the entry of goods to the Canary Islands and even more aware of the importance of the controls that our and our officials of the inspection posts carry out. Controls that guarantee the health of the goods that enter our islands”, says the government delegate in the Canary Islands.
“Therefore, and from the recognition of the effort carried out by our officials in the PIF and the needs of the companies, we are going to strengthen the staff, for an era, such as the Christmas campaign, of particular intensity in trade and in the transport of goods,” he adds.
