Asturias is one of the territories in which Ineco RuralTIC advances, the program of digitalization of the rural world developed by Ineco, the engineering and consultancy of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
Two digital nomads from Ineco are already in the town of Salas within the framework of this program that allows Ineco’s own professionals to make teleworking compatible in small territories of Spain. The Asturian municipality thus becomes a territory where the third edition of Ineco RuralTIC is developed, which since November and over the next few months will reach 45 Spanish municipalities in a staggered way. After the passage in November through Ribadedeva, it is expected that other municipalities of Asturias, such as Ibias and Vegadeo, will also join the program. Both the municipality of Castropol and Salas repeat in this edition after having participated in previous editions.
Manuel Martín, technician in the Management of PMO and Construction Directions, and Juan Santiago Mondéjar, from the Management of Terrestrial Telecommunications, will continue their usual activity in Ineco remotely while supporting this municipality through different digitization workshops.
In the social field, Salas is interested in improving the digital skills of its citizens through the training that Ineco RuralTIC offers in digital communication, email, instant messaging, banking and online shopping, administrative procedures, internet security, etc.
In its economic development facet, the Ineco RuralTIC program will allow digital nomads to support local SMEs with workshops on technology for small businesses, digital positioning and electronic processing, among others.
A pioneering program for the digitization of the rural world
A total of 45 Spanish municipalities are registered in this third edition of the Ineco RuralTIC 3.0 program through which the company’s digital nomads temporarily telecommute from populations under 10,000 inhabitants. Ineco RuralTIC 3.0 is the new edition of this program that during the last two years and so far, has managed to reach about 100 municipalities thanks to more than 200 digital nomads that have traveled in a staggered way throughout much of the national territory.
The program allows the digital nomads of Ineco to combine their professional day to day with activities that promote local digitalization, based on the needs transmitted by the inhabitants themselves and the SMEs of the territory. So far, nearly 1,000 digitization workshops have been launched that have allowed Ineco’s digital nomads to share knowledge with almost 6,000 people and 550 SMEs in all the small participating municipalities.
