The delegate of the Government, Adriana Lastra, has intervened in the inauguration of a day to present at Navia the LLAR-CIT. The CIT, Center for Territorial Innovation, is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and its objective is the correction of the negative effects produced by the process of population concentration and economic activity promoting innovation. In Asturias, the LLAR project has been launched to lay the foundations for a CIT.
In her speech, Lastra highlighted the ILCs as “an initiative that invites us to look to the future with optimism and commitment” and framed them in the demographic challenge, a “top priority” for the Government of Spain: “They are another response, a tool, to attract and fix population in rural areas from an innovative, ambitious and hopeful point of view.” The delegate of the Government has announced that at the beginning of next year this CIT will be constituted through an agreement between the Principality and the Government of Spain.
Lastra reminded the mayors and mayors of western Asturias present at the inauguration that “they will always have the support of the Government Delegation”. And he has given some examples of the Spanish Government’s support for Navia with which it meets “other fundamental objectives of the demographic challenge, such as consolidating territorial cohesion, promoting sustainability or attracting talent”.
