The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (MIVAU) has concluded an agreement with the Principality of Asturias to finance the construction of 24 homes in energy-efficient buildings intended for social rent. MIVAU will contribute 1.2 million euros of the 2.8 million euros budgeted for the implementation of this project, from the NextGenerationEU funds within the framework of the Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan (PRTR).
The agreement includes aid for the construction of homes in Candás, in the municipality of Carreño, which will be developed under public promotion by the Principality of Asturias, on a land ceded to the regional administration by the town council.
New agreement
Through this aid plan, MIVAU aims to finance the increase in the public housing stock for social rent or affordable housing, through new construction promotions on publicly owned land. These homes will be part of the public park for a minimum period of 50 years and their consumption of non-renewable primary energy must be at least 20% lower than the requirements required in the Technical Building Code. The works must be completed by June 30, 2026.
For this programme, endowed with 1 billion euros, 12.145 million euros have already been transferred to Asturias in the year 2022, and the financial commitment has been formalized from the annuality of the year 2023 for the same amount, having transferred to date the amount of 9.443 million euros corresponding to that annuality. The assistance provided is up to €700 per square metre of useful living space with a maximum of €50,000 per dwelling.
Previously, three agreements of this program were signed with the Principality of Asturias, for the financing of 571 homes destined for social rent in twelve actions, with a contribution of NG EU funds of 21.6 million euros. In this way, with the new agreement, the construction of a total of 595 homes has been formalized to date in thirteen actions within as many municipalities of the autonomous community, with a contribution of NG EU funds of 22.8 million euros.
