Zaragoza.- The Ejea de los Caballeros Local Security Board, co-chaired by the Subdelegate of the Government in Zaragoza, Noelia Herrero, and the mayor, Teresa Ladrero, have today signed their accession to the protocol of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) for the protection of victims of male violence. A new step for the municipality, after the agreement adopted at an extraordinary plenary session held on July 30, and the application for accession made to the Subdelegation of Zaragoza on August 1.
In the session of this Friday, August 29, the operational protocol, coordination and collaboration between the Local Police and the Civil Guard, which operates in the locality, has also been signed. In fact, the training of agents to follow up cases of violence against women in the town of Cincovillesa will begin in a short time.
Noelia Herrero reiterated the importance of collaboration between the different institutions “because only in this way can we end this social scourge that is male violence”. In addition, she has been pleased to have met one of the challenges that was marked when she became the first woman at the head of the subdelegation, “to incorporate into the Viogén system all the municipalities of the province with sufficient local police staff to assume the protection of women victims of gender violence.”
The municipalities of the province adhering to the VioGén system are: Alagón, La Almunia, Borja, Calatayud, Caspe, Cuarte de Huerva, Ejea, Épila, Pedrola, Pinseque, Tarazona, Tauste, Utebo, Villanueva de Gállego and Zuera. As of July 1, the number of VioGén cases in the province was 1,624.
