Zaragoza.- The Aragonese municipalities have 1,755,359 euros from the State Pact against Gender Violence to strengthen their policies for the eradication of male violence, funds that can be executed from July 1 of this year until June 30, 2026. as reported by the BOE. The amount allocated to the Aragonese municipalities has increased 132% since 2018, when 755,329 euros were transferred.
By province, the municipalities of Huesca are allocated 445,571 euros; those of Teruel, 470,573 euros; and those of Zaragoza, 839,215 euros. These funds should be earmarked for actions aimed at promoting equality between men and women, as well as against violence against women. Activities such as awareness-raising and prevention campaigns, the establishment of violet dots, the strengthening of municipal services for the care of victims and specialized training for local professionals in the field of equality and the prevention of male violence are contemplated.
The State Pact against Gender Violence, renewed in February 2025 with the agreement of all but one parliamentary groups, has a funding of 1.5 billion euros for the next five years. Of these, $160 million per year will go to the regional governments (60% more than in 2017); $100 million per year will go to the General Administration of the State (20 million more than in 2017); $40 million per year to the municipalities (50% more than in 2017) and new measures are established to strengthen the traceability and control of funds.
7.4 million for the Autonomous Community
Also within the framework of the State Pact against Gender Violence, the Sectoral Conference on Equality approved last April the distribution of 7.4 million euros to the Autonomous Community of Aragon to finance programs to combat gender violence and other forms of male violence included in the measures of the Pact.
Through this finalist fund, the Government guarantees its economic commitment to ensure the stability and permanence of public policies and services derived from the State Pact against Gender Violence, consolidating work against violence against women throughout the State.
