Almudévar.- The subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Carlos Campo, has participated in the day of the Water Day of Riegos del Alto Aragón, held on this occasion in Almudévar on the occasion of the centenary of the community of irrigators of the town. Campo has congratulated the irrigators for a century of history, which, he has indicated, “is assured of continuity in the future thanks to your effort, a tenacity that the Government of Spain accompanies with the most powerful investments in modernization in recent decades.”
The deputy delegate recalled that in February 2024 the agreement was signed between SEIASA, the public company of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Community of Irrigators of Almudévar, to invest 16 million euros in the project of construction of two new rafts in the irrigated area, as well as the installation of propulsion pipes from the pumping stations. A complex that is completed with a photovoltaic solar park for the supply of energy, and that will represent a significant improvement and cost savings for a total of 517 irrigators that grow on an area of 3,965 hectares in Almudévar, Gurrea de Gállego and Alcalá de Gurrea.
This action is part of the 300 million euros mobilized for different irrigation modernization actions in the province, fruit of the traditional agreements of the Ministry of Agriculture and those signed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The program of events of the Water Day has included a visit to the Almudévar reservoir, whose works ended in September 2024 after an investment by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition (MITECO) of more than 160 million euros. The MITECO formalized with E-distribution last March the contract for the works that, with a cost of 3 million euros, will make possible the electricity supply for the filling of the reservoir.
