The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, through the Special Employment Plan for Aragon, will distribute a total of 355,658 euros in the province of Huesca. This budget will allow the hiring of unemployed workers, preferably agricultural workers, for the execution of works of general interest in municipalities and districts of Altoaragon.
This Tuesday took place the meeting of the Provincial Commission of Follow-up of the Special Employment Plan in the Subdelegation of the Government in Huesca to approve the call of 2024, with the presence of the subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Carlos Campo, and with representation of the SEPE, INAEM, the Aragonese Federation of Municipalities, Regions and Provinces, the Provincial Deputation of Huesca and the economic and social agents.
Subdelegate Carlos Campo stressed that “this Plan of the Ministry of Labor allows to establish employment in our villages and, at the same time, makes it possible to carry out projects that have a very positive impact on the territory.” Thus, he has cited as examples some of the most important works carried out last year, such as the adaptation of rural roads and tourist trails in Benabarre, the Region of Jacetania, Barbastro, Bárcabo or the Forest Community of Ansó-Fáphagus.
The meeting held today also took stock of the actions of 2023, which allowed the hiring of 50 workers in works and services that were carried out in 31 local corporations.
Rural environment development
The Special Employment Plan allocates funds from the annual budgets of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) to finance the salary costs, including the business contribution to the Social Security, of the unemployed who will carry out tasks for the projects of works or services proposed by municipalities and counties.
These projects should preferably be carried out in periods not coinciding with the agricultural campaign, and should aim at the development of the rural environment, through the conservation and development of forest heritage and the environment or the creation and improvement of infrastructures. In terms of deadlines, the works must begin in 2024 and end their execution throughout 2025.
