The government delegate in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, has visited the region of Sobrarbe to analyze with institutional representatives the various governmental actions underway in the territory. Among other issues, the impact of the aid to implement clean energy projects in rural municipalities, which already totals 1.8 million euros in Sobrarbe, has been addressed, as well as the positive repercussions of the reopening of the Bielsa tunnel 24 hours a day or the investments in the Ordesa National Park.
Together with the deputy delegate of the Government in Huesca, Carlos Campo, Beltrán met in the city of Aínsa Sobrarbe with the mayor of the municipality, Enrique Pueyo, to assess the impact of the DUS 5000 program of aid for investments in unique clean energy projects in municipalities of demographic challenge, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Specifically, the town has been awarded 521,454 for two projects: the renovation of street lighting with LED technology and the implementation of photovoltaic solar installations intended for collective self-consumption.
Subsequently, the delegate held a meeting with municipal representatives of the Sobrarbe in the county headquarters, in Boltaña. The total amount of aid granted under the DUS 5000 to municipalities of the Sobrarbe, amounting to 1,846,345 euros, has been distributed there. In addition to the aforementioned Aínsa projects, there are €1,203,664 for two projects in Boltaña (implementation of a heating network and renewable energy facilities) and €121,226 for one project in La Fueva (renewable energy facilities).
The meeting also assessed the positive impact on the territory, both social and economic, of the 24-hour reopening of the Bielsa tunnel, a measure resulting from the negotiation of the Ministry of Interior with its French counterpart. Likewise, the investments that the Ministry of Ecological Transition, through the public company Tragsa, is executing in the Ordesa National Park have been detailed, among which the construction of the visitor center in Escalona, with a budget of 3.5 million euros, stands out.
Regarding infrastructure, the delegate recalled the impulse given by the Government of Spain to the project of conditioning the N-260 between the Balupor tunnel and Fiscal. Last September, the Ministry of Transport formalized the drafting of the project for 867,619 euros, which has a projected budget of 98 million euros.
In another area, that of culture, the City of Broto has received 7,880 euros from the Ministry of Culture to develop the project ‘Libraries of proximity’, while Aínsa has received 1,920 euros for the promotion of reading.
Finally, Beltrán has encouraged mayors to deepen collaboration with the General Administration of the State to also advance issues such as the prevention of gender violence, through the State Pact, or as the accessibility of citizens to digital procedures, with the program ‘La Administración Cerca de Ti’, which has already visited Bielsa and El Pueyo de Araguás, and will soon arrive in Aínsa.
For Beltrán, “these actions show the commitment of the Government of Spain to the Region of Sobrarbe and, in general, to improving the lives of people living in rural areas”.
