The government delegate in Aragón, Fernando Beltrán, held a working meeting this morning with the territorial delegate of ACCEM in Aragón, Julia Ortega, in which the subdelegate in Zaragoza, Jorge Pastor, also participated.
Beltrán and Ortega have taken the pulse of the first days of the process of receiving migrants, in which solidarity entities are a key piece. Yesterday afternoon, 85 migrants arrived in Zaragoza. In addition, there are another 150 lodged in Sabiñánigo (a town where another 40 places have been activated), 50 in Quicena and it is expected that another 50 will arrive in Tarazona in the next few days.
The delegate thanked ACCEM for its work, as well as the solidarity of the municipalities that are receiving people arriving from the Canary Islands thanks to the network of reception devices for basic humanitarian care throughout the national territory that the Government of Spain is designing.
“The system ensures coordinated initial assistance to newly arrived people in order to have the least possible impact on the local population and public services,” he said.
In addition, he recalled that Aragon is a community of solidarity “as we demonstrated with other humanitarian crises.”
