This 22/23 academic year a total of 87,329 students from Aragonese educational centers participated in the talks that are part of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in the educational centers. According to the evaluation that has been held in the last few days in the three provinces of Aragon, the results of the activity improve the data of the previous courses, registering a greater interest on the part of the associations of mothers and fathers.
The Government’s sub-delegations in Aragón have hosted this June the meetings of the Follow-up Commission of the Master Plan, composed of representatives of the Provincial Education Service, federations of associations of mothers and fathers of students, as well as representatives of the State Security Forces and Bodies (Civil Guard and National Police) and by the Government Delegation in Aragón: the High Inspection of Education and the Gender Violence Unit.
Again, the most demanded topics in the classrooms have been, in this order: Risks of Internet and Bullying and cyberbullying, observing a continuous increase in the interest of the talks on Violence towards women, which according to the attendees reflects the greater social awareness of this problem. This reality has led the actors involved to ensure that the gender perspective, non-discrimination and equal treatment are again emphasized during the next course.
In Zaragoza, the National Police has given 903 talks of the plan, reaching 44,509 members of the educational community. In Huesca, there were 191 for 4,696 attendees. And in Teruel the balance of these days is settled with 79 interventions in 19 centers.
Likewise, this course both the National Police and the Civil Guard have developed the reading of the story The Secret Club, aimed at younger students and in collaboration with Unicef, whose objective is to develop initiatives to prevent violence, protect minors and create protective environments for children (spaces where the rights of children are respected and a protective environment is promoted at all levels: physical, psychological and social).
The Civil Guard in the municipalities of the province of Zaragoza has been able to carry out the activity in 82 schools (reaching 2,031 students) and on 37 occasions they have been taught to members of the parents’ associations, reaching another 1,831 people.
In the province of Huesca, the Civil Guard has been present in 202 activities before a total of 6,129 attendees, with internet risks being the most demanded talk, as it usually happens since previous years. In Teruel the agents have been in 238 talks distributed in 63 different rural centers.
The government delegate in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, highlighted the good health of the program, since the interventions of the agents in schools and institutes “are not isolated pieces but are part of a comprehensive project for the whole population.” The organizers highlight the involvement of the entire educational community and have decided to bet “on the permanent training of agents” who act as speakers in this Master Plan. In addition, it is being valued to create “new thematic lines of talks”, adapted to the demands of the educational centers and to the new needs posed by society.
Since 2007
The Master Plan has been in operation throughout Aragon since 2007 and is developed during the school year at the request of the educational centers. National Police and Civil Guard agents give talks, of approximately one hour, to promote safety and prevention to students from third grade of primary and secondary school.
