The Government Delegation in Aragon has held a series of meetings with different municipal representatives and agricultural entities from different areas of the community with the aim of improving crime prevention in rural areas. The last one was chaired by delegate Rosa Serrano with the presence, among others, of Lieutenant Colonel Juan Gutiérrez, Head of the Command of the Civil Guard of Zaragoza, and the general secretary of UAGA in Aragón, José María Albierre. Previously, the subdelegate in Zaragoza, Fernando Beltrán, held meetings with the mayors and councilors of the regions of Los Monegros and Valdejalón in the barracks of the Civil Guard of Leciñena and Épila; while the subdelegate in Huesca, Silvia Salazar, met in December with the agricultural and livestock organizations of the province.
From the Government Delegation in Aragón has been transferred to the different stakeholders who have already put in place mechanisms to prevent and act in the event of theft and theft of agricultural material. Among them stands out the mobilization of GRS (Reserve and Security Group) teams of the Civil Guard or the activation of ROCA teams specialized in this type of criminal cases. In any case, it has been found that thefts and thefts on farms in the three provinces of Aragón remain at levels similar to those of previous years.
In order to ensure collaboration and detect criminal activity, the Government Delegation in Aragon and the Subdelegations have insisted on the need to file a complaint in all cases, even if it is a case of theft or theft of little economic importance. This is because the absence of a complaint favors the impunity of the offender and the reiteration of this type of crime.
It has also been recalled that if suspicious or transit movements of foreign people are observed in areas close to the properties, farmers and ranchers can contact the Civil Guard through telephone 062, a more effective method than direct communication with the barracks, since from there all calls are centralized and immediately diverted to the nearest patrol.
The Government Delegation has highlighted the extraordinary and constant work of the Civil Guard to ensure security in the broad territory of the Autonomous Community and has thanked the various municipalities involved, as well as the agricultural and livestock entities, for their willingness to collaborate. All the parties considered it necessary to maintain a fluid dialogue as a fundamental tool to improve security in the rural environment.
