The Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, highlighted on Monday that the Strategic Project for Aerospace Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) is a bet of the Government of Spain for a key sector that generates opportunities and employment.
Morant chaired the third meeting of the Alliance for PERTE Aerospace, an inter-ministerial body that aims to facilitate dialogue, participation and exchange of ideas between the public and private sectors to generate synergies and boost the implementation of this strategic project.
During her speech, the minister stressed that there is a high territorialization of the PERTE and the potentialities and capacities that exist in the different territories of Spain are being taken into account.
In total, the Aerospace PERTE will mobilise more than 4.5 billion euros with the promotion of European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan to strengthen science and innovation in the aerospace field with the aim of responding to the challenges of the sector such as climate change, global security and the digital transition.
Morant has also announced that the Council of Ministers will approve tomorrow the statute of the Spanish Space Agency.
In this regard, the minister has stressed that space is a country priority. This sector provides essential services for our society in the field of communications, Earth observation, navigation, security, the fight against climate change or the monitoring of phenomena such as drought or fires.
