The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, visited this Saturday in Seville the Andalusian technological innovation company Skylife, specialized in aerospace engineering. The Chief Executive has reaffirmed the Spanish Government’s firm commitment to the aerospace sector and has highlighted the impetus given to this area by the designation of Seville as the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency.
In his visit to the Skylife facilities, Pedro Sánchez has learned about the work of this Andalusian company, which is part of the ecosystem of industrial innovation around the aerospace sector in Seville, and has highlighted the opportunity that the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan represents for the development of this industry.
Within the framework of the Strategic Project for Aerospace Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE), more than 2,400 million euros are invested in positioning our country as one of the main technological and industrial production centers in the aerospace field. The commitment to the aerospace sector is also evidenced by the increase in the Spanish quota to the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2023, which has a direct effect on the development of the sector in Spain.
In addition, Skylife, beneficiary of the Digital Voucher Kit for SMEs, participates in innovative projects of great technological value, such as the Recovery Plan project led by Wallbox for the development of a new system of public electric recharging, sustainable, modular and ultra-fast, endowed with about three million euros of total subsidy. To this end, this Andalusian company has received more than 788 thousand euros within the call for the Sustainable Automotive Technological Program 2021 of the PERTE of the Electric and Connected Vehicle.
