The delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, accompanied by the superior head of the National Police in Western Andalusia, Andrés Martín Garrido, today welcomed the six new commissioners who join the Superior Head of the National Police of Western Andalusia, three of whom have ascended to their new positions within the community, such as the new Commissioner of Alcalá de Guadaira, Susana Dolz; the operational head of Citizen Security of the Commissariat of Algeciras, Fernando Arellano, and María José Martínez, who also joins the Citizen Commissioner. The other three --Ramón José Fernández, Francisco Medel and Ana Cambón-- were already commissioners starting in new destinations.
With these new additions, Pedro Fernández highlighted that “the four provinces covered by the demarcation already have 6,647 agents, which means an occupation of the workforce of more than 93.4% and 241 agents more than in 2021, that is, 3.4% more than in 2021, an increase that responds to the commitment of the Ministry of Interior initiated four years ago to progressively increase the personal and material resources of the National Police and Civil Guard, as well as the improvement of conditions and remuneration for agents by more than 20%.”
Within this policy of the Ministry of the Interior is also part of the plan to improve the State Security infrastructures, including those that are being developed in the National Police complex on Blas Infante Avenue in Seville, which has visited Pedro Fernández and which have a budget of around one million euros (990,670€). It is a work that will allow the energy rehabilitation, improvement and modernization of the Superior Headquarters and that will be extended during this year.
Precisely, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and the Ministry of Interior are executing works in units of the National Police, Civil Guard and Penitentiary Institutions of Andalusia under the Energy Transition Plan in the General State Administration (AGE), financed with Next Generation funds through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which represent a total of 101,398,091.47 euros in the Andalusian community.
This inter-ministerial agreement seeks to reduce energy demand and the dependence of fossil fuels on infrastructures and buildings assigned to the Interior, as well as to promote in them the consumption of renewables and self-consumption; and facilitate the transition to zero emissions mobility in the fleets of police vehicles.
