The Director General for the Public Service of Justice, Verónica Ollé, met this Thursday in Melilla with representatives of the legal sector of the autonomous city to address the details of the new Law of Efficiency of the Public Service of Justice.
The meeting was attended by, among others, the acting judge of Melilla, Alicia Ruiz Ortiz, and the prosecutor Lucía Jiménez Díaz.
Ollé has presented the main novelties of the law, which is part of the project of transformation of the Justice undertaken by Minister Bolaños, as well as the set of initiatives that the ministry is promoting to implement the new organizational model of the judicial system.
The Director General has highlighted the advantages of this new structure for Melilla, where, thanks to the digital modernization process that the ministry is carrying out, the access and processing of the démarches will be speeded up, both in the city itself and with the peninsula.
Specialization, Resource Management and Proximity
With regard to the new provisions of the Law on the Efficiency of the Public Service of Justice, attention is drawn to the creation of the Courts of Instance, which integrate the single-person and first-instance courts into a single organization in each judicial party.
In this way, the 12 single-person courts of Melilla will be transformed into a single Court of Instance with different sections, which will favor specialization, allow the proper distribution of workloads and optimize resources.
The law also creates the Office of Justice in the Municipality, which will be the direct point of contact between citizens and the Administration of Justice. In it, procedural acts and procedures can be carried out electronically, avoiding displacements.
