The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, explained that the new European automated entry and exit system Entry/Exit System (EES) that is being implemented at the border crossing of Beni-Enza “will allow greater fluidity, an improvement in the working conditions of professionals of the State Security Forces and Bodies and will guarantee greater security to the border post.”
In an interview given to Popular Tv, the highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has made clear that the new system “is going to mean a substantial improvement” because it will result not only in the working conditions of the agents who provide their service there, but also “in the security of the city itself”.
This system will prevent the passage of people who do not meet the conditions of entry and will indicate those people who exceed the authorized period of stay.
It will also make it possible to combat identity theft and the fraudulent use of travel documents, while at the same time contributing to the prevention, detection and investigation of terrorist crimes or other serious crimes and will make it possible to obtain information in the investigations of such crimes relating to persons who have crossed the external borders of the European Union (EU).
As explained by the head of the Government Delegation, two new buildings are materializing within the border area: a first building for entry to Spain, which is practically finished, and which is only in the absence of adjustments and the computer part for its implementation. And a building for exit control, which is located on a clear land that was just at the exit to Morocco, whose work is very advanced.
“It is going to allow us not only to have that knowledge of all the people who enter, but also of the people who leave, and therefore, to ensure that each of the citizens who transit through this border crossing point comply with the current legality,” he said.
In addition, there will also be an improvement on the part of the Civil Guard since it will also proceed to a building for the Benemérita, which will be located where the car parks are located, for everything related to the control that these professionals do at the border post itself.
State-of-the-art hospital
During the television interview, the Government Delegate also referred to the new University Hospital, whose work “is practically finished and the last nuances remain”.
Although he did not want to give a date for its opening, given that this will depend on licenses that he has to give from the Autonomous City, he has shown his desire for this infrastructure to be operational before the end of the year.
As Moh explained, for a while the two hospitals will coexist and there will be a progressive transfer of services and professionals from the District to the University.
In addition, the necessary personnel will be implemented to service the new maximum health infrastructure when the new hospital “is nine times larger than we have right now.”
But not only that, Sabrina Moh has been convinced that the University Hospital is going to be a “claim” for health professionals because “we are going to have a technology at the forefront of the country”.
“I believe that it will attract talent because the hospital will be at the forefront of the country and, therefore, it can serve so that specialists from other parts of the territory, and even our talents, melillenses who have gone to study the medical career or any other specialty that is necessary within the hospital, can also come to serve here at the University Hospital,” he explained.
