The Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, has highlighted the departure of more than 350,000 euros of material that they received at the beginning of the year for the Polyvalent Center for Older People, popularly known as Senior Citizens Residence.
In statements to the media he has also highlighted the fact that 52 new geriatric beds have been installed, that all rooms have a ceiling crane and all have a new bathroom seat…
“We are planning all the maintenance that needs to be done because, obviously, it is a macro center where a lot of constant and daily maintenance is needed,” he explained.
In fact, he has indicated that not only is a maintenance of arrangements being organized, but also preventive and has reported the visit of a company, an architect and two decorators from Madrid to detail a technical architectural report of the building to analyze the deficiencies and needs that need to be addressed, it has been elevated to Madrid and a phased work plan is being made, due to the great size of the building.
People-centered
Verónica Aznar has explained that, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, a new model of person-centered care has been put in place and where the number of places has been limited.
“We were a privileged center since fortunately we did not have the death of any resident, but as a result of what happened in the peninsula, it was necessary to urgently implement a new care model, where macro-residences had to make steps to units of coexistence and make these centers a house, a home and that will imply a reduction in the number of residents,” he reported.
A reduction in residents that, however, “does not entail a lack of staff,” said Aznar, who explained that it has led to the stabilization of the Residence’s 53 places staff, the fact that the PEs are being covered or the fact that the casualties are covered immediately.
“We are still committed to improving, giving it quality, expanding the workforce and working in the pharmacy to burden the staff less,” he said. “We have created an evaluation committee to see where we are and what we need,” he concluded.
