The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, welcomed in Cedeira the 114 civil guards in practices that will strengthen the position of Galicia as one of the safest communities in Spain. He did so in the welcome of the 114 new and new trainees that this security force in Galicia will have, in a presentation event in which he was accompanied by the general head of the Civil Guard in Galicia, Miguel Ángel González Arias, and by the mayor of the town of Cedeira, Pablo Moreda.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the role of the almost 6,000 Civil Guard agents operating in Galicia, “helping to structure our territory”. In that sense, he encouraged the new and new troops to continue advancing their training “learning from the loyalty, integrity and dedication shown every day by those who will be their mentors.”
He stressed the increase in personnel that the Government made in Galicia, “a further sample of its commitment to this land”, which allows it to establish itself as one of the autonomous communities with the best proportion of agents per inhabitant of Spain. Both to the citizens and to the new civil guards, the delegate wanted to express the closeness of the Government in their daily lives through events such as this.
Not only in the reinforcement of the campuses can be seen the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior for security in Galicia, also in the promotion of new facilities or in the improvement of the material resources available, which has a direct and positive impact on the working conditions of the agents, “who return all this effort of public security policies in the form of loyalty, integrity, responsibility and delivery”, in the words of the delegate.
Through this new batch of trainees, Galicia adds 114 new personnel, of which 78 are of Galician origin. Between the ages of 20 and 40, new and new agents will be trained on the ground for ten months. There will be 55 in A Coruña, 30 in Pontevedra, 17 in Lugo and 12 in Ourense.
Addressing the interns, Pedro Blanco pointed out the geographical peculiarities of Galicia, where they will be formed “learning to guarantee equal rights and security regardless of geographical location, in a land as diverse and wide as ours”. In that sense, he valued the daily work of the Civil Guard, “a silent, firm and citizen-friendly work, which is key in rural areas, protecting the population and showing them that institutions are at their side.”
