The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today highlighted the weight of A Coruña in the Armed Forces through the Maneuver Support Command of the Spanish Army (MAM), whose headquarters is located in the Herculina city. It did so in coincidence with the renewal of the command of this unit that from today assumes the general of Division Raimundo Rodríguez.
Pedro Blanco attended in the Atocha quartering the act of taking office of the new head of the MAM, which is also the maximum institutional representation of the Armed Forces in the Autonomous Communities of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country and Castilla y León. After the event, the delegate congratulated the new command and transferred the support of the population of A Coruña and Galicia to the role of the Armed Forces in terms of security, humanitarian assistance and environmental protection. To this congratulation was added the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, present at this same event.
The delegate recalled that the General Headquarters of A Coruña is headed by an organization composed of more than 12,000 soldiers, who play an important role in sustaining military operations in Spain and abroad to which they provide all kinds of operational and logistical support.
