The Huesca Security Board, co-chaired by the Government’s deputy delegate in Huesca, Carlos Campo, and the mayor of Huesca, Lorena Orduna, met this morning to coordinate the police device that will ensure security during the next festivities in San Lorenzo.
National Police, Local Police, Seconded Police and Civil Guard will work in a coordinated way to ensure the good development of the festivities. The device will have about 300 National Police personnel, with reinforcements of personnel from Zaragoza, Jaca and Canfranc, and will pay special attention to the most multitudinous acts, where emphasis will be placed on the prevention of theft, mainly of mobiles. As a novelty, the Huesca Police Station will have an anti-drone system during the holidays to detect and neutralize aircraft that fly without the appropriate permits and may pose a security risk.
The Civil Guard will monitor the accesses to the city, while the Seconded Police will ensure compliance with the regulations of public shows and entertainment venues.
The deputy delegate of the Government, Carlos Campo and the mayor of Huesca, Lorena Orduna, have thanked the collaboration of the State Security Forces and Bodies and have highlighted the institutional coordination to ensure the good development of the festivities. The subdelegate has invited “to enjoy the festivities with intensity, but also with respect for coexistence”.
In this regard, the subdelegate has announced that the Government Subdelegation, through its Unit on Violence against Women, has launched a campaign to prevent male aggression, which will have a tent on the 8th to distribute awareness-raising materials among young people. In addition, in recent weeks, the Unit has reinforced the Violeta Point campaign in the city of Huesca, with specific action on social networks and the incorporation of a fortnight of commercial establishments as a safe place to offer information to potential victims.
Representatives of the Local Police, the Seconded Police, the Civil Guard and the territorial delegation Government of Aragón in Huesca were also present at the meeting.
