In November he re-established the passing road traffic in the square, after the reopening of the Hiedra Street viaduct, facilitating the connection of the streets Agustín de Foxá and Padre Francisco Palau and Quer with Pio XII and the M-30.
The works carried out by Adif AV in the East access of the station (C/ Hiedra) allowed to build four new high-speed passing roads (from 22 to 25), expand the main lobby to the east and build a new slab for the taxi service.
The works allowed to finish on 15 October the lower pass under the 12 high-speed tracks of the station and its connection to the central lobby of Cerca. Since then, high-speed passengers can leave on both sides of Chamartín directly and easily.
The new lower pass of High Speed, with 2,300 m2, is designed to facilitate a quick and comfortable departure for travelers. It has a connection to all high-speed platforms by elevators, escalators and fixed stairs, and is equipped with indicator screens.
