The National Music Auditorium has hosted the “Day of Remembrance and Tribute to All the Victims of the Military Coup, the War and the Dictatorship”, an act that honors many anonymous lives buried under a slab of unforgivable indifference and tries to pay the debt of gratitude to those who committed themselves to a free and democratic Spain. A time in which our country went from "being a dictatorship, poor and isolated, to one of the most advanced democracies in the world. A modern, open and sustainable economy, a tolerant and inclusive society, and an international power, committed to multilateralism, Europeanism and peace."
The commemoration will result in "more than a hundred cultural activities and events of various kinds that will flood our streets, schools, universities and museums, starting on January 8." To coordinate its development, the government will create a special commissioner, appoint a scientific committee made up of experts of recognized prestige, and collaborate with all public administrations in the execution of an extensive program of activities, the details of which will be announced at the beginning of the year at the event.
