- To condemn the gender-based violence killings of two women aged 60 and 25, allegedly killed by their partners, on 22 and 26 November in the province of Malaga.
- The number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 40 in 2025 and 1,335 since 2003
The workers of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, headed by the delegate, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the subdelegate, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, have observed a minute of silence to condemn the last two murders for alleged gender violence in the province of Malaga.
In the first case, the victim is a 60-year-old woman, allegedly murdered by her spouse in Malaga on November 22, 2025. There were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
The second victim is a 25-year-old woman, allegedly killed by her partner in Malaga on November 26, 2025. There were also no previous reports of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
“An emotional minute of silence that we have kept to remember the last two victims of gender violence, two women murdered in Malaga. At the moment, in addition, we are investigating a new case in Torrejón. All our condemnation before the aggressions, but also before the silences and denials. I appeal once again to the whole of society and all institutions to work together and to be able to put an end to male violence,” said Francisco Martín Aguirre.
With the confirmation of these cases, the number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 40 in 2025 and 1,335 since 2003, when these data were first collected.
The institutional statement has been read by the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation, Eva Corrales Melero. In it they have recalled the communication methods that victims have at their disposal, such as the telephone 016, online consultations through the email address 016-online@igualdad.gob.es, the WhatsApp channel in the number 600 000 016 and online chat, accessible from the website violenciagenero.igualdad.gob.es, which operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
