The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has transferred to the mayors of eight municipalities of the region of Torrelaguna the commitment of the Government of Spain for the construction of a new quartering of the Civil Guard in the area.
It was in the course of the meeting that he held with them today at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, and in which the head of the Civil Guard Command, Colonel Carlos de Miguel, was also present. Specifically, they have attended: the mayors of Torrelaguna, Víctor José Gutiérrez Sánchez; of Cabanillas de la Sierra, Fernando Tárraga Encantado; of La Cabrera, Ismael de la Fuente Soria; of Patones, Luis Arriazu Garcia; and of Torremocha, Carlos Rivera Rivera; and the mayors of the City of Redueña, María de las Mercedes Pérez González; and of Venturada, Carolina Folgueira Flores.
The meeting follows the request of the municipal councillors of a meeting to have more information on the solution to be given to the current situation of the Civil Guard headquarters of Torrelaguna, and to convey to the government delegate the "deep concern" and concern that this issue generates among the neighbors of the area.
In this regard, Francisco Martín stressed that the region has a good security situation, with a positive evolution of crime, and explained that the job catalogues are also going to be updated. However, the total commitment of the Government of Spain to security and coexistence will materialize in the construction of a new barracks that will have pavilions for the residence of the guards and their families, and will be located where an optimal land is found for it.
At the same time, it regretted that the Community of Madrid has not provided resources since 2008 for the maintenance or construction of infrastructures to house the agents. “In the absence of a response from the Community of Madrid, there is the Government of Spain,” he stressed.
