The workers of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, headed by the delegate, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the subdelegate, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, have observed a minute of silence to condemn the last two murders for alleged gender violence in the provinces of Barcelona and Madrid.
In the case of Barcelona, the victim was a 38-year-old woman allegedly killed by her partner on November 13 after an attack on October 18. There were previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
The victim of Madrid was a 60-year-old woman, allegedly murdered by her spouse on November 15. There were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor. This is the third case registered in the Community of Madrid so far this year.
“It is an absolutely unbearable drama that demands our utmost forcefulness. First of all, we want to offer the maximum affection, support and solidarity to the relatives and relatives of the victims. In addition, it is obligatory to demand maximum forcefulness from all public officials and also to ask for unity in society,” said Francisco Martín Aguirre.
With the confirmation of these cases, the number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 38 in 2025 and to 1,333 since 2003, when these data were first collected.
The institutional statement has been read by Mario Montero Raya of the Technical Cabinet of the Government Delegation. In it they have recalled the communication methods that victims have at their disposal, such as the telephone 016, online consultations through the email address 016-online@igualdad.gob.es, the WhatsApp channel in the number 600 000 016 and online chat, accessible from the website violenciagenero.igualdad.gob.es, which operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
