Threads of Violence” and “Blancanueva” have been the winners in the III Edition of the Youth Contest of Short Videos Against Violence Against Women organized by the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, whose objective is to contribute to the awareness and sensitization of youth on issues of equality and violence against women.
The contest has two categories. In the first, in which young people aged 12 to 16 participated, the short winner ——Threads of Violence — was the work of Angela Daniela Olivo Gámez and Matilde Carnalla Alcalá; in the second, for young people aged 17 to 22, the first place was for the video ——Blancanueva — of Nicolás Vidal Chacón, Nerea Ruiz Robles, Patricia Media Tadeo, Marina Carmona Mesa and Raúl Herrador González.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, wanted to thank all the participants in the contest as well as the educational community for the work they do to make young people aware of gender violence “that is a reality, despite some deny it”, and so that the fight to eradicate it continues.
And he has asked the attendees to remember two facts: the first, that 90% of the attacks are perpetrated by men; and the second, that in the Community of Madrid there are currently more than 12,500 active cases in the VioGén system.
In category I they have completed the list of winners: 2nd “Breaking the silence”, by Darío Caso Martín, Noé León Garrido, Mireia Herrera Espuña, Marina Losa Muñoz and Rodrigo San Segundo Martín; 3rd “It’s not my fault”, in which they participated: Ariadna Nieto Bonilla, Cecilia Elena Almendro Adrián, Elena Bravo del Cerro,
Carla Parera León, Alberto Martínez Sánchez, Alejandro Rojas Román, Yoel Peguero Marrupe, María Padilla Escaso, Natalia Santiago Franco and Diego del Moral Villarón; and 4th “Invisible is not non-existent”, by Mariela Martín Sanz and Angela Daniela Olivo Gámez.
In category II, they have completed the prize pool: 2nd “Your voice can save you”, by Teresa Saiz Congosto; 3rd Daily Violence”, by Rebeca Docio Gil, Marta Cenamor Hernández and Rubén Rodríguez Blanco; and 4th El Espejo by Alejandro Puado Criado.
In all the videos, young people have captured their vision of violence against women in one form or another in just 90 seconds.
More participants
In this III edition, the number of participating videos has been exceeded with respect to the first, up to a hundred works, all of them prepared by students of secondary education, baccalaureate and vocational training schools of the Community of Madrid.
The jury that selected them was composed of staff from the Government Delegation in Madrid: General Secretariat, responsible for the Unit for Coordination against Violence against Women, director of the Area of Education and personnel related to digital communication, all of them from the Delegation and experts in the field of intervention in the field of awareness on equality and gender violence.
The short finalists were already screened on Tuesday, November 24 at the Gala of Meninas Recognition 2025 against Gender Violence awarded by the Government Delegation and which, on this occasion, was held at the Giner de los Ríos Foundation in Madrid.

Each participant in the short winner will receive an accrediting diploma, from his/her participation in the contest.
About the contest
The contest is aimed at students from all Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training schools in the Community of Madrid between 12 and 22 years old. The content of the videos must be related to gender-based violence, and may relate to any of the following issues:
- Detect violence against women around us and/or in social networks and new technologies.
- Actions to eliminate violence against women in society and/or in social networks and new technologies.
- Prevent sexism, misogyny and hatred towards women among the adolescent population.
- Promote affective – sexual relationships among the adolescent population, based on gender equality, respect for diversity and tolerance.
- To promote networks of support and solidarity among the adolescent population, in order to combat violence against women.
Modalities of work
The recordings must be presented in format mp4, being able to use the applications that are desired to make the video of maximum duration of 90 seconds, style “reel” or “Tiktok”. Only one video per contestant is supported.
This competition is open to individual participants and groups, but videos that have previously been awarded in other competitions are not accepted.
Other people may participate in them, but the authorization of that person must be presented.
The person participating in the contest must guarantee that he/she is the sole holder of all copyright or author rights on the submitted videos.
