- Both the new A-1 acoustic screens and the new clean point have been funded by European funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, visited today together with the mayor of Lozoyuela, Lucía Balseiro, the march of the works that the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through the Demarcation of Roads, is developing in the A-1, in the municipality of this town, to reduce noise by placing a new acoustic containment system.
The action is financed with the European funds NextGenerationEU of the Recovery Transformation and Resilience Plan, as well as the new Clean Point inaugurated in the town and aimed at better management of waste and to favor the circular economy, which they have also traveled.
These two projects represent the materialization “of the efforts of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid”, stressed the Government delegate, and his commitment to improve the quality of life of the citizens of the region.
New acoustic screens
The works to reduce the noise on the A-1 motorway, between the kilometers 66.4 and 68.5 as it passes through Lozoyuela, consist of the replacement of the acoustic screens, thus reducing the acoustic pollution of the area and minimizing the impact of the road on the urban environment that transits.
It is therefore a question of increasing the quality of life of citizens, enabling more pleasant and habitable spaces and environments while improving the aesthetics and urban integration of the stretch. In addition, the action will allow to obtain other benefits both environmental, with the improvement of the habitat for the fauna of the area, and economic, since it can imply a potential increase in the urban value by reducing the acoustic levels.
Punto Limpia
The new Clean Point of Lozoyuela is an installation aimed at the best management of waste in the municipality, favoring the circular economy.
It is integrated into the Sustainable Waste Management Strategy of the Community of Madrid, which allows the creation of new clean points and the optimization of existing ones.
Despite being executed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Community of Madrid, the funds of the subsidies come from the European Union, framed within the Call for aid for the implementation of the waste regulations within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by Next Generation EU.
