The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has visited Alameda del Valle today to know the municipality and to be interested in the recovery of the damages suffered by the borrasca Jana.
On arrival, he was received by the mayor, María Elizabeth Crespo Chiabrero, with whom he made a tour through the streets and natural environment of Alameda del Valle. During the same, they have been able to share different topics of interest to the residents of the municipality, as well as take stock of the consequences of the strong rainy episode last March and analyze the current needs. Among others, the recovery in infrastructures among which the damages in one of the bridges visited during the tour stand out.
Alameda del Valle was one of the most affected municipalities of the Sierra Norte by the train of borrascas that affected the Community of Madrid in March, due to the flood and overflow of the Lozoya River that produced floods and significant material damage. The visit has also provided the opportunity to get to know the natural wealth of the municipality. Located in the upper valley of the Lozoya, it has numerous vegetation, riverside trees, poplars, poplars and strawberries, as well as oaks, some olmos and zarzas.
AURA grants
On 1 April the Council of Ministers approved the AURA grants for the recovery of affected territories as a result of floods and other phenomena of different nature that occurred between 16 September 2024 and 24 March 2025. Currently, Alameda del Valle is one of the 17 municipalities in the region that has requested this aid that finances up to 50% of the application budget.
