The city of Madrid will have an important security device on the occasion of the celebration next Sunday, October 12, of the National Day of Celebration, which will have more than 1,700 members.
Their coordination has been finalized today in the meeting held at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, representatives of the Citizen Security Unit of the Delegation of the Government; of the House of H.M. the King; Presidency of the Government; Ministry of Defense; Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid; Civil Guard Command; General Commissariat of Citizen Security; of the special commissariats of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate; National Heritage and Madrid City Council (Municipal Police, Samuros and Civil Protection agents). The meeting was chaired by the government delegate, Francisco Martín.
Representatives have also participated of the Citizen Security Unit of the Delegation of the Government, of the House of H.M. the King, Presidency of the Government, Ministry of Defense, Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid, Command of the Civil Guard, General Commissariat of Citizen Security, of the special commissariats of the Congress of Deputies and of the Senate, National Heritage and City of Madrid (Municipal Police, SAMUR-Civil Protection, Firefighters and Mobility Agents).
This device will ensure that the tribute to the Spanish Flag and the traditional military parade, presided over by SS.MM the Kings of Spain, run normally.
Air and Land Parade
The parade will start from the Emperor Charles V’s roundabout and will continue along the Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles, Paseo de Recoletos and Plaza de Colón. The Royal Tribune will be installed in the Plaza Cánovas del Castillo.
During the entire route, a significant influx of people is expected and, from the first hour of the morning, the main walks through which the parade will pass will remain cut off to traffic, as well as the adjacent streets.
Likewise, and due to the large number of authorities that will subsequently move from the stands to the official reception offered by the Kings, the device will also be present in the immediate vicinity of the Royal Palace.
The air parade will involve more than 70 aircraft, and on the ground, almost 180 vehicles and more than 3,800 members of the Armed Forces, the State Security Forces and Bodies and other State institutions.
This year, moreover, marks the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Military Emergency Unit. On the occasion of this commemoration, two of their companies will parade on foot.
