New meetings with unions to analyze the problem of sexual violence in the workplace
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has held meetings this week with representatives of the unions CCOO and UGT to address the problem of sexual violence in the workplace.
These meetings seek to strengthen collaboration with the trade union sector, which is key in the prevention, detection and care of sexual violence in work environments.
These meetings are part of the meetings promoted since 2024 by the government delegate with the aim of promoting collaboration between administrations and social agents to stop sexual violence in the region, strengthening the lines of collaboration in prevention, care and protection.
During 2025, meetings have been held with professional associations such as the Official College of Social Work of Madrid (COTS)), the Official College of Psychology of Madrid (COP) and the Professional College of Social Educators of Madrid (CPEESM); with business associations such as Hostelería de España and Noche Madrid; professional associations such as the Association of Women Jurists Themis or the FAPA Giner de los Ríos; political formations such as Izquierda Unidas, Podemos and Más Madrid, as well as specialized units of the National Police (UFAM) and Civil Guard (EMUME).
The delegate also met with the president of the 9th Council of State, María Luisa Carcedo; the spokesperson of the Equality Committee of the socialist group in the Madrid Assembly, Lorena Morales; the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women, María Guijarro Ceballos; and the director of the Institute of Women (INM), Cristina Hernández Martín.
