The delegate of the Government of the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the General Head of the 6th Zone of the Civil Guard in the Valencian Community, José Antonio Fernández de Luz, presented this morning at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo de Cheste the special security device of the Motul Grand Prix of the Valencian Community, which is held from today to Sunday, November 16. During this period, the Armed Institute deploys close to 2,000 troops composed of civil guards of various specialties. Therefore, as Bernabé added, “all the technical and human resources are available for security and good development and the operation of a Grand Prix that means for the Valencian Community, for the province of Valencia, for the whole region, an event of great dimensions with an economic impact of more than 30 million euros”. Bernabé stressed that “almost two years later, we return to this circuit with the same desire, with the energy and, above all, with the will to guarantee security for all the people who come”. The Grand Prix was suspended last year due to the consequences of the dana.
As explained by the delegate, the troops participating in this year’s device “will be distributed throughout the circuit and in the town of Cheste with tasks of road safety, public order, citizen security and anti-terrorism.”
In addition, the device will have all the human resources available from both the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard and the Traffic Management Center of Levante, who will coordinate the regulation and monitoring of the circulation in the area of influence of the circuit, A-3, A-7 and in the secondary roads of access to it "to achieve the maximum fluidity and road safety possible", said Bernabé. There will also be a drone equipped with a camera, which allows the transmission of images to the Traffic Management Center, which will be added to the three helicopters equipped with Pegasus radar, which will perform regulation and surveillance tasks on the roads leading to the circuit.
As a novelty, the DGT has prepared explanatory maps with alternative itineraries recommended for the weekend, in order to ease the main accesses and improve the flow of traffic during the event, which can be consulted on its website. The delegate has recommended to the fans that, “to avoid crowds, they inform themselves of the situation of the roads and of the accesses to the circuit through the official channels”.
Reopening of the C-3 to the Circuit Court
For those who do not wish to access the circuit in their private vehicle, this year the train and bus services from Valencia will be operational again during the Grand Prix days. In this regard, Bernabé recalled that during the 14th, 15th and 16th of November, the Ministry of Transport will reopen the C-3 line of Neighbourhoods in another 10 km between Aldaia and the apeadero of the Ricardo Tormo de Cheste Circuit. Barnabas stressed that “efforts and energies have been redoubled to be able to reach this weekend with the full capabilities in this line.” This rehabilitation of the C3 “is assuming an investment by the Government of Spain of 90 million euros”, according to the delegate. All in all, Renfe will launch a shuttle service with 120 services from the València Nord Station to the Circuit to travel to the Grand Prix. Trains will stop at all intermediate stations between València Nord and the Apeadero.
