- The investment in the districts of the south of Valencia for the recovery of rural roads and agricultural infrastructures affected by the dana amounts to more than € 3M
- Bernabé shows his concern for the management of the dana resources of the city of Vàlencia: “Of the €137M transferred by the government, it has only presented memoirs of works worth 400,000 euros”
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the president of the State Commercial Society of Agrarian Infrastructures (SEIASA), Francisco Rodríguez Mulero, has visited the action of the Government of Spain after the damage for the recovery of the rural roads in the districts of Faitanar and La Torre to which 2.4 million euros have been allocated.
In total, Bernabé recalled, the government has allocated more than 3 million euros for the recovery of 177 kilometers of agricultural roads in the southern districts of the city of València.
The main actions that are being developed are the preparation of the path for recovery of the original state; the construction of base with contribution of zahorras, the cleaning of ditches, the construction of pavement with hot agglomeration and of concrete block wall, focused and armed and the cleaning of ditches with mechanical and road means.
Bernabé stressed that “all these actions go directly to improving the quality of the orchard in the south of Valencia and, therefore, the city and its heritage”.
Management of government’s dana funds by municipalities
The delegate has shown her “concern for the functioning and management capacity of the City of Valencia”, an institution that has received 137 million euros from the Government of Spain to deal with the damages caused by the damage and that has only presented memories worth 400,000 euros. Bernabé asked himself: “How is it possible that memories have been presented for barely 400,000 euros when the date to deliver the memories ends next February? In this regard, he pointed out that “there is a big difference between the number of reports presented by other municipalities with much less capacity than that presented by the City of Valencia”.
In addition - he added - "in the draft budgets of the City Council for 2026 only 30 million euros are foreseen for the recovery of the southern districts when it has 137 million euros". But that – according to Bernabé – “is a question of priorities”. Thus, he recalled that the urban gardens of La Torre could be executed “quickly” by TRAGSA “but the City Council prefers to postpone them to the first half of 2027.”
