Criminal offenses have been reduced by more than 31% in the municipality of Reocín from January to September compared to the same period of 2024, a decrease that is due to the fall of both conventional crime and cybercrime.
This was detailed on Thursday by the government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, in the Local Security Board that he chaired together with the mayor of Reocín, Pablo Diestro, and in which he also participated the head of the Civil Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Postigo, together with other police officers and representatives of the Local Police.
Casares has indicated that, in the first nine months of 2025, conventional crime in Reocín has been reduced by 31.17%, from 247 to 170 offenses, and cybercrime, with a reduction also of 17.31% (from 52 to 43 offenses).
He also pointed out that burglaries in homes and establishments have been reduced by 28.5% (from 28 to 20), a decrease that in the specific case of burglaries in housing has been 38.1% (from 21 to 13).
At this point, the delegate has highlighted the importance of these results as they are criminal acts that generate social alarm and that have been significantly reduced compared to 2024.
Casares has also reported a 50% decrease in theft or a 33% decrease in serious and less serious crimes of injuries and tumultuous squabbles. In addition, Reocín has not registered vehicle theft, robberies with violence or intimidation or any crime against sexual freedom.
In addition, the Local Security Board has analyzed the data of the VioGén System, which contains 14 active cases in the municipality and is monitored by both the Civil Guard and the Local Police.
